VIETNAM PACKING LIST

Here is an idea of the travel items required. Note that all the clothing items & quantities suggested below are simply a recommendation, as it depends on the individual.

Please keep baggage size and weight to an amount that student is capable of carrying on their own. We suggest using a large backpack due to uneven ground. Ensure that all LAGs are in appropriate sized bottles for air travel.

Generally speaking, you should pack lightly. Please remember that clothing should be appropriate for a school trip. A daypack is ideal for any personal items such as your camera, pullover, water, etc. that may be required during the day.
  • Personal money maximum $100USD (recommended in USD or Vietnam Dong)
  • Good pair of sunglasses
  • Camera
  • Torch/Flashlight
  • A journal or diary
  • A reading book
  • Appropriate clothing for manual labour and service work, including work gloves
  • 1 pair of outdoor shoes (sneakers) or boots   
  • 1 pair of open shoes (sandals, water shoes, rafters)
  • Underwear & socks (as appropriate)
  • 1 sweater or light jacket
  • 2 long sleeve tops (Warm clothing for the evenings) 
  • 2 pair trousers/skirts
  • 2 pair of shorts 
  • 1 swimming suit
  • T-shirts 
  • 1 rain jacket (umbrella optional)
  • 1 - 2 hats (for protection from the sun)
  • Prescription glasses if used with back-up pair suggested (note: contact lens wearers should note that we will be in dusty areas at times) 
  • Toothpaste & toothbrush 
  • Shampoo / conditioner  (small containers). Soap / Shower gel, and deodorant
  • Water flask to minimize water bottle wastage
  • Tissues
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Towel
  • Mosquito net if wanted
  • Insect repellent
  • Sunscreen 
  • Personal medications for pain relief, intestinal distress, and personal medications.
